What these standards mean
- UL2272A fire and electrical safety standard covering the whole electrical system of a hoverboard, including the battery, charger and wiring. It is the test people mean when they ask whether a hoverboard is safe.
- UN 38.3A transport test every lithium battery must pass before it can travel by air or sea. It covers shock, vibration, temperature and short circuit.
- IEC 62133-2 and EN 50604-1Battery pack safety, covering overcharge, over-discharge and short circuit protection.
- EN 17128The European safety standard for personal light electric vehicles, which covers electric scooters. It tests braking, frame strength and stability.
- EN 71 and EN 62115Toy safety standards. They apply to our kids scooters and cover mechanical parts, flammability, chemical content and electrical safety.
- EN 60335Electrical appliance safety. We hold these reports for the chargers supplied with our products.
- EN 55014 and EN 300 328Tests that a product does not cause electrical interference, and that any Bluetooth radio stays within legal limits.
